Ukraine Ministries
Even though Ukraine is experiencing very challenging, perilous times due to the war, the Left Bank Church (Light of the Gospel) and Right Bank Church (Light of the World) are still active and ministering in Kamianske, a city formerly called Dniprodzerzhynsk. They minister to local people and refugees alike. In Nikolaevka, a village near Kamianske, a small church ministers to their community. In spite of the disruptions of war, they still live their lives and engage in much needed physical and spiritual endeavors. Below, you will see the ministries in which they are involved in addition to regular Church services and Sunday schools.
India Ministries
Matthew Missions serves rural villages and towns in four districts of Andhra Pradesh, India. Housing, food, clothing, education (school tuition, uniforms, books, bags, and supplies), and medical care are provided for forty-seven (47) orphans in Nidubrolu, Andhra Pradesh. Matthew Ministries provides bi-monthly support for orphans, lepers, widows, and the poor. Below are several examples of the work we do in India:
The John Holt Townsend Orphanage Home
The orphanage houses forty-seven boys and girls. Matthew Ministries provides support for food, clothing, school uniforms and supplies, medical treatment, and shelter. Planning and construction of the orphanage began in 2015 under the leadership and support of Matthew 25:34-40 Ministries. The ground floor (bottom story) was completed in 2018 when the children moved in. With some of the orphan boys and girls becoming teenagers, it was decided to build another story on the orphanage to keep them separated. Matthew Ministries supported the addition of the first floor (top story) of the orphanage in 2023. Due to the builder underestimating the cost, the orphanage is only 75% complete. More funds are needed to complete construction. If the Lord leads you to donate towards finishing the construction of the orphanage, please go to the Donate page and earmark your donation for ‘orphanage construction’ in the “Comments” box.
Grace Home & Temporary Wall
The journey to build Grace Home began with plans and initial construction in 2015. Due to challenges with government requirements and shortages of supplies, only the outer part of the building was completed by 2022. The interior of the building, electrical work, and plumbing were completed with Matthew Ministries’ support in 2023. With 1,200 local and out of area pastors, relatives, and believers, the Grace Home was dedicated on July 23, 2023. The photos below are of Grace Home and its dedication ceremony. Pastor David and his wife Mary, widows, and sick orphans (who need to be isolated from the others) live at Grace Home. Visitors also will be housed there.
During the winter of 2023, severe flooding destroyed and swept away the wall around the main church and orphanage in Nidubrolu. This deluge exposed the residents of Grace Home and the orphans to danger from poisonous snakes coming from the fields into the buildings. Due to the current winter rainy season, construction of the wall cannot begin until January or later. A temporary carpet wall was constructed to keep out unwanted snakes and other vermin until the permanent wall can be built.
Above: Temporary Green Carpet Wall erected around the orphanage and Grace Home to keep out snakes.
Garapadu Church Wall
The new wall around the church was built to keep poisonous snakes like cobras from entering the church. It was constructed in 2023.
Forest Outreach
Pastor David, three co-pastors, and thirteen youth blessed the lonely forest people in four different areas by preaching the Gospel and praying for them. Nearly eighty forest people were blessed by love gifts of blankets and saris for the elders and toys, drinks, chocolates, biscuits, chips, etc. for the children.
